Dzongri

breakfast visit the Mountaineering
Institute, Padmaja Zoological Park,
Tibetan Self Help Centre and a Tea

Drive to Bagdogra

Starting
from Yuksom, at an altitude of
1780 mtrs. one has to climb
steeply to Dzongri at 4320 mtr,
over a distance of 25
Kilometers. that takes 3 days,
with overnight halt; to allow
for acclimatization. The trek
from Dzongri to the base of
Gochela takes 3 days. |

Day 01 |
Arrival at
Bagdogra airport. Drive to Pelling.
Check in at your hotel for overnight. |
|
Day 02 |
After breakfast, drive to Pamayangtse.
Walk up to the ruins of the old capital
of Rabantse, and take a tour of the
Pamayangtse Monastery. Drive 24 Kms (
01.30 hrs) to the holy Khechepheri Lake.
Continue the journey for another 30 Kms
( 1.30 hrs) to reach Yuksam. Check in at
your hotel in time for lunch.. In the
evening take a walk to the Yuksam
Coronation site, - a simple stone bench,
where the three monks appointed the
first king of Sikkim. Visit the nearby
Ani Gompa {Buddhist nunnery). Overnight
at Yoksom. |

Trek
Begins. Frek from Yuksam to Tsokha.

Day 04 |
Trek from
Tsokha to Dzongri. 4320m/9 kms/4 hrs.
O/N at huts or camps. |

Day 05 |
Trek from
Dzonfri to Thangsing. 3900m/8 kms/4 hrs.
O/N at camp |

Day 06 |
Trek from
Thangsing to Samiti Lake. 4500m/8 kms/4
hrs.O/N at camp |

Day 07 |
Trek from
Samiti Lake to Goechala and back to
Thangsing. 4994m/14 kms/9 hrs. O/N at

Day 08 |
Trek from
Thangsing to Lamphokri to
Chamery.4300m/3 hrs. O/N at camp. |

Day 09 |
Trek from Chamery to Kasturi Odar.1700m/
3 hrs.O/N at camp. Very steep desent to
Kasturi Odar in 3.30 hrs. Continue
trekking down hill to descend to Lapdang
, 1700 m in 03 hrs. This is also the
road head. Overnight in camp. |

Day 10 |
After an
early breakfast, and taking packed lunch
with you, drive 113 kms, to Gangtok. The
journey will take 7-8 hrs, with a
diversion to visit the Tashiding
Monastery. After a short drive from
Lapdang trek for 2 kms to reach the
Tashiding Monastery. Return back to the
road after exploring the monastery and
continue your journey to Gangtok. It is
a fascinating journey, passing through
river valleys, and crossing the
Rabalg-la Pass. You will pass through
scenic countryside, see exotic flora,
and isolated homesteads. Enroute visit
the Bon Monastery near Kewzing. Upon
arrival at Gangtok check in at your
hotel for overnight |

Day 11 |
After an
early breakfast drive to Gangtok via
Rabangla. transfer to hotel. O/N at
hotel. |

Day 12 |
After
breakfast a full day local tour of
Gangtok visiting Enchay monastery,
Handicrafts centre, Tibetology
Institute, Do Drul Chorten, and Rumtek
Monastery. In the evening explore the
bazar. Overnight at hotel. |

Day 13 |
After
breakfast drive to
Darjeeling/Bagdogra/Phuentsoling or New
Jalpaiguri for onward journey |
